Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

anyone have experience with or know much about this cooperative program? www.classicalconversations.com

I have been approached by a very devout Catholic young mom who is a former teacher, she is offering to get it up and running in our area. While I am actually part of a non-Catholic co-op now, I am hesitant a bit about something this structured that is not Catholic.

Lisa,
We are in our second semester with CC. We have really liked the program. The only problem we had as far as it not being Catholic was the use of the Veritas Press timeline cards. The back of the cards have some anti Catholic bias in them. The good part is that the kids (elementary age) don't have to read the back of the cards. They only need to memorize the event in the front of the card.

I originally joined the program because my very social 14 yog was about to start high school and she wanted to go to school to have a social life. CC was the perfect solution. It allows me to homeschool and it allows her for some classroom type experience. Her class has about 12 students in it, enough to have good discussion and good interaction. I have been happy with the program and hasn't had any problems with any of the material.

I ended up also enrolling my 10 yob and my k-5 boy in the program also. The 10 yo is enrolled in both Essentials and Foundations. I have liked what I have seen so far. I especially like the Essentials program. It is a very thorough study of the English Grammar and an excellent review of math facts.

Overall our experience has been very good. The program, as I said before is good and the group of people we are working with is made up of really good people.

If you have any specific questions I'll do my best to answer them.
