Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I used Dawn's idea for a game as inspiration for a game that we will play tonight after dinner. I made game cards for each family member with the following phrases:
Our Lady of __________________,
Queen of ________________,
Then an individual title of Mary like Help of _____________, Star of _____________...
The bottom of each card contains three blanks.

In an envelope I placed index cards with the words that complete the phrases, like Lourdes, Fatima etc...and enough copies of the words "pray", "for", "us" for each family member to collect. We will take turns pulling from the envelope and trying to fill up our cards. When they are all filled, we will use the completed cards to pray a litany to the Blessed Mother. Enjoy!

Very cool idea -- this particular feast is easy to miss and I think we'll "steal" your idea and play after quiet time!

We celebrate today as my oldest daughter's nameday. The kids have had fun in the past decorating different versions of Mary's name like Marya, Moira, Miriam, etc.... It is a pretty easy craft to do.

I blogged about our plans here.
