Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello all, I don't know if this is the proper place to post a question like this, but this is the group I felt best would have an answer.

I recently starting meeting a priest from my parish as a spiritual director. I found out yesterday that the anniversary of his ordination is this coming week, 34 years.

What do you think I can do to mark the occasion? I know it's not a 'jubilee' year like 25, or 50 would be, but I still thought it was something to acknowledge. What do you think?

Ughh... my bil is a priest and presents for him are the hardest!! He has so many great books and CDs (other gifts) -- that I have to try and get the newest and the latest right away before some else gives them to him!

Is there a Catholic shop near you that has gift certificates? Or keep it simple and have a Mass said for him -- a priest certainly knows the "weight of a Mass."

I think this is great advice! I asked a few priest friends directly what they enjoy receiving as gifts and they each mentioned gift certificates to a good Catholic bookstore.

We also invite Fr for dinner - not necesarily on the ordination date but perhaps that week...A special dinner in memory of the ordination.
