The Irish Tenors Ellis Island CD is great for some Irish folk music. Also, the Irish Rovers and the Clancy brothers.

Hi Angie,

A brother-in-law gave me a Chieftains CD for Christmas one year. Our library has lots of different albums by them. The music is very dancable/stompable! It's loud and rowdy and fun. Their Christmas album has some nice songs on it, too.

Thanks, Mary Ellen and Kelly. We are Irish Tenor and Chieftains fans (although there was a Chieftain CD where they joined with contemporary female singers that had some questionable stuff on it, if I recall correctly.) We also have some "greatest hits" type CD's which may not be the best but my children love them!
