Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone suggest a Nov. composer?

I am just too sick to put any effort into it.

I am so sorry.

Also, if you want to do Dec. too??

I'll help ...

We listened to a lot of Rachmaninov last year.

The Bells
he considered his best work and it was inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's poem.

Audiences craved his
Prelude in C major
whenever he would perform in public he was often asked to repeat this performance.

For religous music
Vespers

I thought the Vespers was different from his other work.

We enjoyed a DVD from Netflix, pianists of the 20th century. The DVD showed footage of Rachmaninov on a boat. I forget if he was shown playing the piano.

Here is a link to some Classical Music posts which mention Rachmaninov and the DVD.

(I think I'm missing some posts. I'll have to try to label those today. Actually this post is from memory. Can I come back later to correct my mistakes?)
