Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dd loves to color, cut and paste. For the past two years I have scoured the internet for freebie versions of color/cut/paste pages to print off for her.

Then I got tired of spending so much time doing that. I recently bought Art Pac one for her from CHC.   It looks like it will fit the bill admirably for her in this regard.

My question is this: in looking at CHC's lesson plans for Grade 1 and then at the Art Pac, is there a benefit in using the pages in the strict order of the packet? Right up front it jumps into a thanksgiving project, which seems odd to me if you are using it with the lesson plans. But I have an old version of the plans, and the Art Pac is new. Maybe they don't correlate like older versions would have.

I was planning to let her have fun with the Art Pac over the summer, but now that I look at it, I think I need to "save it" for the fall. It would be just the thing for her to work on alone while I work with her brother on other things, like math.

Any thoughts?

I've used the Artpac 1 for my daughter. There is no real order for the art projects. The plans just say to complete a lesson, no specifics. There are "seasonal" ones, but there are also a large number of "generic" activities. Maybe you could save the seasonal projects and let her have the others for fun over the summer.
Hope this helps.

Thank you- that does help. Sometimes I need another pair of eyes (and another brain) to help me make sense and think things through

Some of the lessons do build on previous ones, but really, it's a basic art program - just have fun with it

Now, in our house, we've been known to make snowflakes in June, turkeys in spring, nativity scenes in Lent (no tomatoes!) - we just really have fun with it....

Same here, we just have fun with the ArtPacs and use the projects in the order that the kids are interested in. I have tried other art "programs" over the years, but keep coming back to the ArtPacs - they are truly a gem!
