Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi,
My daughter will be 10 in June. She likes Art and I think it is time to upgrade some of her supplies. I'm thinking of getting her a larger set of prismacolor pencils (she has 12 colors now).

What are your favorites or "must haves" for this age?

Linda

I think your idea of a larger set of quality coloring pencils is a great start. Some other things that my 10yodd likes: sketchpads, watercolor paints and watercolor paper (watercolor pencils are nice, too!), Sculpey clay, gel pens (we bought a set of over 100 for $20 at Sam's Club and she LOVES these), and drawing and painting how-to books. The artist quality crayons are awesome (we use Caran D'Ache), and I know a lot of people like to use beeswax crayons and modeling clay. If she likes coloring books, Dover has very detailed instructional coloring books. If you are looking for places to buy, Dick Blick is good, and Rainbow Resource has a large Arts and Crafts section.

Thank you. These all look like great ideas.
