Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have felt lead for awhile to offer little preschool music lessons free for home schoolers. These lessons would be appropriate for ages 1-6.
Just click on my blog below and click on my link "Play In Time".

I have loved teaching preschool music in the past but have not had the time lately. Blessings to all little musicians:)

LESSON 3 is up! It is a horse theme. Have Fun!

I am excited about doing this and due to the response, I will be posting a new lesson each week on Wednesdays. If you miss lessons, no big deal. We will make it so you can jump right in.

I got a response that an older child sat down to the piano and figured out the chords to "Five Lines on a Staff." This is wonderful! And so I encourage the older children to do this.

My eight year old is writing some music for this program and I encourage the older students to do this also. Children can make up songs with as little as two chords.   I LOVE when children create!

Also, I will put up some lessons for babies too because this is VERY fun!

I will post items that you may need a week ahead of time so that mom can have those things available for the lessons. (You won't be needing too much).

Items for future classes:
_silk scarves
_blank note cards
_bells of some sort

I will post in more detail at my blog: playintime.blogspot.com/
Blessings,

Wow- this is great! I just did the first lesson with my 3 and 1-year-olds- they loved it! We used to do Kindermusik or Music Together but can't manage it anymore, so I am so excited that you are sharing these lessons!

How old should the child be? I look at my almost 3-year-old and know this would be too much for her. Are you thinking 3 1/2 and up? Just wondering.

This is for 6 and under. We plan to put things up for the babies soon.
"Tea Kettles" with instruments (eggs, sticks, bells is fun) I did these things with 3 year olds in my class and had good response. I tried to upload a classical song to have the little ones dance to with silk scarves. "Sound lotto" is also fun for a three year old.

With "Up, Up, Down, Down" You could take blocks and build stairs. Play the song and when "Up,up" is sung, walk your fingers up the stairs and when down, down is sung, walk your fingers down the stairs.

I'm glad you asked this question because I will keep the little ones in mind when we do this and put up suggestions of what to do with the little ones during these lessons.

Also, sometimes if you see what is happening it makes it easier to teach your child these lessons. That is why we will be putting up some of these lessons on Youtube to demonstrate for moms!:)

Blessings and hope this helps!

This looks great. I can't seem to get the music to play though-I am wondering if I have to do anything special to hear it or if I just need to figure it out some other way. Thanks!

Tracy,
You should be able to click on song selections 1-6 of any choice and then it should load. It should work on most computers because they are MP3s!
Hope this helps:)

Saminier, I'm so glad you'll use it. We are revamping this summer as I have explained in my new post. We are planning to do three 6 week units this coming school year:)

I just wish I could figure out how to link Play in Time on my signature line along with Catholic Moonlight...I'll try again.
