Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

After finishing a 4 week drawing class we're going to brush up on our color theory. This site has an edible color wheel project.

There are quite a few links and projects here.

There is some online color mixing for the little ones here.

This looks like such an interesting site for the older ones. I haven't gone all the way through yet.

So far I've checked out Seven Blind Mice, My Many Colored Days and Toby's Rainbow Colored Clothes for the baby. Got any favorite color books?

O.K. I'll admit that wasn't the most interesting title. We also found Babar's Book of Color and Warthogs Paint. I also picked up a True Book: Experiment with Color.

The edible color wheel (see link above) was great fun. After we finished the wheel, we used white frosting with colored to make tints and then black paste coloring to make shades. It takes only a very minute speck of black to make a very dark shade and then you have to add more color back in. There were a lot of cookies to eat when we were done! 5 yo ds followed that up with colored water in the sink and a few clear cups to mix various colors with a syringe. I'd *love* to hear about similar activities. How about something for outdoors?

Gwen,

In a half an hour, we're going to do the edible color wheel....

Thank God we have soccer practice tonight and they can burn it off!

Too fun!

Thanks for posting this!

God Bless,
