Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just wanted to pass along this little discovery. MaryAnn Kohl has written a book called Storybook Art which encourages children to imitate various picture book illustrators through 100 different projects. If you knew about this resource all along, then just ignore me... I was just so excited to find this book and wanted to share it with you

I really like MaryAnn Kohls books . We have The Big Messy Art Book and Discovering Great Artists. I will have to look for Storybook Art next time I'm at the library.

Has anyone used or seen this program?

Its supposed to be a supplement to catechesis with art prints/old masters. Art and religion in one.
Its pretty pricey but it has a lot of prints. Adoremus books has it.

Thanks!

I have one set of these prints. If you have seen CHC art prints, it is very similar. The manual that comes with it is more detailed than the one from CHC.

I just ordered it recently and plan to use it like I do the CHC prints. I have a picture frame that I put them into. At the beginning of every month I switch the picture. I have the print hanging up in our kitchen, so the kids and I can talk about the paintings and the artists at meal times etc.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Jennifer,
Thanks for the reply.
I have 2 more qs.

1.Do you think it is worth the money?

2. I ordered the CHC liturgical prints collection a while ago. I was bothered by the fact that they had chosen as "masterpieces" several prints that I thought were cheesey (Sacred heart, Immacutlate heart, Madonna of the streets)--not masterpieces at all! So, given that I'm so "picky," I just want to make sure its really quality pictures--old masters--and not cheesy pics?

thanks again,
CK
