Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello, friends,

I am working on combining all of my children for geography this year. My little ones will be working through CHC's "Tour of the Continents" (which we did when the older children were the same ages, and had such a delightful time!). I would like the big kids to work through the continents as well, listening along with the littles as we talk animals, saints and customs. But I'm imagining them carefully studying the continent maps to the end of memorizing countries and major landmarks. So while the littles will have a poster or salt dough map as a finished product, the big ones will be able to label a map pretty well from memory.

Now this is all in my imagination at this point... We'll see how things actually go!

My question for you all is what resource would you recommend for the maps of the continents? I have had trouble finding affordable maps of the individual continents. Does anyone know of an affordable source for large continent maps? Would a globe be better?

Thank you!

I use an older (laminated) version of these maps from geography matters for continent studies.

We don't have a proper globe but we do have a Hugg-a-planet Earth (fun for the littles) and we use the Google Earth program quite a bit (It's particularly good for looking at landmarks).

Ekbell, thank you! That is very much like what I had in mind. And the laminated maps are also inexpensive.
