Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm trying to decide what to use for Geography with my children in the upcoming school year (ages 17-6).
Last year my two oldest completed World Physical Geography - Brenda Runkle which was excellent and they have a thorough knowledge now of earth science and some map knowledge. My younger children completedA Child's Geography - Ann Voskamp so also have a good introduction to earth science.

I think we are ready for a lighter approach to geography and I'm hoping Michael Palin's DVDs will be the answer.

For those who have seen his DVDs what do you think? I have no way of viewing these prior to buying, so will have to rely on your opinions.

We watched Around the World in 80 Days on Netflix Instant this past August the week it was over 100 and we had three extension cords to use while waiting for the electric company to come do the switch over to our new service.

We thoroughly enjoyed them! Mine are little, and while I'm a little fuzzy and can't recall that there wasn't *anything* questionable, I have no recollection of anything like that.

We pulled out our world atlas and followed along, and it was a lot of fun! Since your children are older, it would be fun for you to watch after you've read the Jules Verne and watch the David Niven movie.

I haven't seen any of the others on your link, but he was so good, I can only imagine they are as well.

Also, my husband really enjoyed them as well. So, that's kind of a fun idea to make it more of a full family thing instead of confined to the hours of schooling.
