Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm wondering about getting the CHC 3rd grade lesson plans for next year as it looks as though they will tie in quite neatly with various things I have planned for my dd. We are already part way through a "world tour" for geography, and I'm wondering what countries the CHC plans cover. Is there anyone who has the 3rd grade plans who could list them for me, please?

Here you go:

Canada,India,Uganda, Peru, Italy,Great Britain,France, Spain,China.

And here is basically how the lessons are laid out.

You spend 4 weeks on each country and 2 days a week working on this. Week 1 for each unit you choose a country to travel to. Look for it on a map and then decide mode of travel.Week 2 Make a map and label and look up info on country. Week 3 Learn historical event and about any Catholic event or people. Week 4 Explore your country. Each country has much info as starters for you and a cute travel brochure to make plus how to's on making your kids passports. A really cute project to do and really worth the lesson plans.

Hope this helpful.

Kathryn,
There's a website with FIAR books and ideas and a passport that really is the same idea (without the Catholic content). I bought the third grade plans for the Tour a Country plan and I didn't find them to be anything special. I wouldn't get the plans just for the geography.

I think Mary Chris might have the link to the FIAR passport plans etc.

Thanks Jackie and Elizabeth . China, India and Uganda are on my list for next year, so that's a start. We've already done Europe and the Americas, and I think we can probably skip Great Britain . We are already doing country studies on a 2 day a week / 4 week per country schedule so that would fit neatly. I wouldn't buy the lesson plans just for the geography, but it would be nice to have a few extra project ideas for Hannah. I'm planning to use the CHC 3rd grade science book with her, and would like to take a look at their religion plans, so I think I can probably justify adding the lesson plans into my budget.
