Hi Families,

The kids and I are writing a story and it has morphed into a story about different explorers. I used to have hanging on a wall, a National Geographic map of explorers and their routes.

So, the other night, actually, it was the night I got home from the hospital, the kids were still awake and as I told them about my hospital visit and to console them, we ended up chatting about our story. I asked, "So what direction should we take?" (no pun intended). The idea came that we should include other explorers and we started mentioning different ones...Ferdinand Magellan, Amerigo Vespucci, Marco Polo...and then Isabella says, "Cheng Ho." I think, "Cheng who?" I had never heard of Cheng Ho so on Sunday, we googled him and read about him. I asked Isabella where she had heard of Cheng Ho and she tells me that she liked reading the map.....

Just a little story to share....
