We are 'traveling' to Asia this term. I thought I'd share our plans here; actually in organising myself I had to look rather deeper. I thought about our whole goals for geography in general. I then created a geography plan that can be adapted for any continent really. I also gathered all the resources for Asia I could find locally. I share this in the hope it may help somebody.

Bless you, bless you again and lots of hugs. I have just started Asia planning as this is our second destination after Australia - this is such an incredible help for me. I have lots of handwritten notes - when I schedule I will type up - though yours seems so incredibly thorough, I probably will not have much to add. Thank you again - this tired postpartum mama is very grateful.

I still have not decided on continent maps - I think I am going to have to forget about the Montessori ones.

Dd is helping me set up notebooks this week - I will have to send you a pic when we are done - not sure i will get round to blogging.

Thank you for sharing this information - we too have been enjoying "traveling" in our geography studies and your framework of plans and goals will help me tremendously!

I'd like to suggest some movies:

The Keys of the Kingdom (set in China)
The Inn of Sixth Happiness (set in China)
The King and I (set in what is now Thailand) our favorite musical!

Also a picture book that is wonderful - the illustrations take you right to China and the culture is woven throughout:

I have gotten my plans up for our first stop in Asia, staying with Serendipity for the most part, we are breaking up Asia and will learn about the Middle East first, then India.

Here are my plans for Middle East, and then pictures/links for my continent box for Asia.
