Seeing as my husband is in the financial business, we do have many current event conversations about economics and scandals.

Perhaps you're hearing about the Ponzi scheme pulled off by Madoff this week? The Wall Street Journal published a very interesting opinion piece on this subject, Pyramid Schemes are as American as Apple Pie by John Steele Gordon, which gives a little history lesson on former President Grant. I found it really interesting...especially the "silver lining" at the end.
