I happened upon a link to this Russian website with an incredible multimedia presentation (Flash) that depicts a timeline of events in WWII from the Russian perspective. The focus is on the border region between Germany and the former USSR -- at least, the part I saw was. I couldn't watch the entire "show" at the time because I was at work, but I trust that the rest is as impressive -- stories and quotes, video footage, sound bites, animated planes and tanks moving across a large map of the area. It is just too cool.

When you reach that page, you will have to click on "Start Presentation" in the box on the right.

WARNING: The main piece of the presentation was around 5MB and took a little bit of time to load (even with broadband at work -- probably due to the server being overseas), but I just noticed that there is a "light" version with no music. I recommend the music, tho, as it is quite good and adds to the experience.
