Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am currently planning our 2008 learning, we are studying Ancient Egypt and I thought it made sense to keep with the one theme for our Geography/Cultural Studies and look at Egypt today, I'm expecting crossovers but that's all to the good

Can anyone recommend great books and other resources for ages 14,12,10,8,6 and 3. Thank you I'm off to continue searching old threads.

For the younger ones ...

We're Sailing Down the Nile (Laurie Krebs and Anne Wilson)
Boushra's Day (Khaled el Dash)

Ds just got Egyptology for Christmas and has really been enjoying it. FYI, we ended up having to get it from Amazon because there are so many little flaps, pockets, and pieces inside that we could not find a book in the store that was intact.

Thank you so much for your suggestions, I was able to order 'We're sailing down the Nile' the others look so good but my supplier didn't have them, I particularly would have loved Day of Ahmed's Secret and Boushra's Day, ah well.

I couldn't find any modern fiction chapter books, but did manage to get a couple of non-fiction books from our library.
