Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How much copywork is suitable for a struggling 9 year old ds?
He has a tough time writing and is very frustrated when it comes to copywork. (Of course, dd-8 does the same work and it is perfect and she is done in minutes) DS sits and sits staring at it for a while and then does a very sloppy job at the work and then cries for a bit.
We are using an old copy of Language Arts Through Literature Yellow (3rd grade) so the copywork is an important part of the week.
His reading is wonderful, but it seems physically hard for him to write.
Any ideas to help him?

I have had 3 boys like this. I always start with a timer. 5 minutes at first. Quality not quantity. After 5 minutes if they've only written a couple of words but they are written to the best of the child's ability, that's okay. I've found, that the timer makes it much less stressful because the child knows he only has to work at this for a limited amount of time.   After a while, when he seems comfortable with the 5 min. time allotment, add a few more minutes. I would think, at 9 years old, 15 minutes of quality work is enough per day.
