Good Morning Ladies,
I spent the whole weekend trying to figure out a line up for my boys where we can study a letter a week but didn't come up with a lot of ideas other than sitting down and literally writing out a whole curriculum! I'm a bit spent this year with the baby coming and the older girls so.... was searching here for ideas.
Came up pretty empty but maybe I'm not searching well. I know about the Alphabet Path from Elizabeth Foss and I did it with my girls but I don't think it has the same appeal to boys. Does anyone have any great links to blogs or anything they came up with?
Here's what I was thinking...
1. A letter a week (or so). Each week, a type of theme, for example, Airplanes for A. Then read a few books, do an activity or two and cut and paste a page.
2. My idea is to make a alphabet book so that they have something at the end of the year to show off. Both my girls have their Alphabet books and the boys have been wondering about one for them.
Also I'd love some great A to Z books with a word on each letter that is great for boys. I'd love to use one book as a spine. Since my girls are my oldest, all of my alphabet books are incredibly girly (fairies, princesses, dolls, you get the idea?  )

Have you seen the Letter of the Week program on line? If you click on this page and scroll down to the letters she has lots of ideas, including book titles you might use.

This thread of Alphabet Books from the picture book forum is a goldmine!
One of MY favorite Alphabet books that I think would be an awesome spine for a curriculum is Abadaba Alphabet. We have the Jim Weiss recording.

I see now that the book at the original link has the Jim Weiss recording as well. I just happened to order it through Greathall.
Thank you for starting this thread. I was planning to put together a loose Alphabet book curriculum with notebook pages for my 4 year old so he would have "school work" to do like his big brothers. I hadn't thought about a spine, but I feel a bit more inspired now instead of content to just "wing it" 
I have these notebooking pages I'd planned on using to help make the notebook for him.
I also think these individual printable books for each letter as well as these ABC Bible Verses look really nice for littles.
I also thought these Animal Alphabet Coloring Sheets looked fun for an older child doing an alphabet themed study.

Don't know if they're on the links but Jan Brett has alphabet pages and the characters coorespond to her books.
And depending on the boy.. I've had some that LOVED the alphabet pages with dinosaurs.

Ah, yes. I use her activity pages, especially her free traceables, all the time.

A-Z Memory Verse book and cd
I am really enjoying using this with dc this year. I was too lazy to organize my own memory verses as in previous years, so I jumped on this one.
The tear out sheets can be colored, and on the back there are some really nice, simple activities. I wouldn't say they are especially for boys, but definitely for children. I also like the cd- my kids are audio learners, and this helps reinforce the verse.
One of my big wins for the school year so far 
ETA: I didn't get the teacher's manuel- not missing it so far.

There are 3 religious ABC books that I thought I would mention:
An Alphabet of Saints by Msgr. Robert Hugh Benson
An Alphabet of Catholic Saints
A Is for Altar, B Is for Bible by Judith Main. This is based on the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
Coloring Pages:
It's not complete, but this if from a gorgeous old book An Alphabet of the Altar
Kimberlee at Pondered in My Heart shared some beautiful handmade creations by her daughter for the ABCs.

I was going to suggest this site. I used portions of it when my oldest was preschool age.
