Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've come across this site a lot, lately. If you own several of their books, what do you think? Have you found them worthwhile? What do you think of the Marshall texts?

Most if not all of the books are available online at the Balwin Online Children's Literature Project so you can check the content before ordering - many of the books are very good. I have not ordered any of the books as of yet so I can't comment on the quality of the printing and binding.

Books, I have many of the Yesterday's Classics, they are all excellent and I'm so glad I purchased them. Prices are all very good too :)

Blessings,

I like that the font is a bit larger than usual......young readers can read them easily if the content/level is good for them.

Some of the "more numerous paged" books are quite a bit THICKER than other versions/publishers because of it, but it seems like their binding is good to handle this...although I haven't had mine for MANY years, so maybe I shouldn't say that....but it SEEMS like it's a good binding for a thick paperback book.

Well, this is encouraging. A lot of the books look interesting to me and I like that I can see a good chunk of the text before buying.

Ditto what Suzanne said above. We have a lot of the YC books as many of them are used with Ambleside.    When ordering last year, I stumbled upon a series by Pierson called Among the Forest People, Among the Meadow People (those are the two we have), and Pond and Night People. Sweet, sweet stories, 3-6 pages each about different animals in that book's habitat. It's been perfect for Madeline, who is now nearly 8, and reading them the last year on her own. She just loves them.

I really like the books from Yesterday's Classics for many of the reasons Suzanne mentioned. The creme paper is a very nice weight and the font is a good size for young eyes! We have a growing collection. Occasionally, I hunt down an original for the color plates, but I have to say, after purchasing a few books from Yesterday's Classics, I so prefer the font size and quality of the books that I almost prefer to order from them!

Books

Also type in any of the Yesterday Classic titles into Librivox, many of the titles are there as free downloads to listen to as well.
