Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Look what I just found on Simply Charlotte Mason: an all day conference on DVD. I'm just itching to buy it, but trying to show some manner of self-control and determine if I really need it. Has anyone else ordered it?

I just ordered it. I had wanted to go to the all day seminar in Iowa in November and it just didn't work out with it being a holy day/All Saints Party for the kids, etc. This is a real deal as I don't have to pay gas, hotel, etc. I can't wait to get it as I am in great need of some motivation at this time of year. There are no conferences around here until spring.

I wanted to report in on this seminar.

First, if you have already purchased the mp3 talk on Laying Down the Rails of Habit, you don't need the dvd, unless you want it. It is the same talk.

I purchased this with the intention of hosting a monthly mom's meeting with my fellow homeschoolers here where we could watch together, discuss and generally encourage one another.
After watching through the dvd's, I must say it is terrific. I enjoy the ability to have a seminar at home, at my convenience.

Sonya is an interesting spreaker, and fun watch. Each seminar is infomative and entertaining. I have been homeschooling a long time (oldest is 17) and have been reading everything about homeschooling I could find for all that time - and yet I still learned from this siminar.   It was really good. There are built in breaks so pausing is easy enough. This seminar gets an A+ from me.
I really recommend it.

I just wanted to write in with a review, since I have so often been the beneficiary of all your reviews on various materials in the past.

Oh this does look tempting. We cannot make our local HSing conference this year so I may have to bite!

Can anyone recommend other DVD titles geared to moms?

Has anyone got the ones on Elizbeth Foss's website?

Can I have a review? I couldn't find it in the archives....

me! I got the DVDs from the 2007 Real Learning Conference. They are wonderful. I wish I had gotten the CD's, though- just so I could listen to them in the car or as I clean the house, etc. It's a bit harder for me to carve out time to watch the DVDs. But they are worth every single penny- a storehouse of both ideas and encouragement.
