Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We extracted some honey from our beehives recently and I saved the wax that I'd like to make into candles or whatever! Does anyone know how this is done or have any other ideas? It seems pretty sticky but it smells heavenly!

I revisited the posts from last year and someone mentioned St. Ambrose is the patron saint of beekeepers. Does anyone know where I can find a picture of St. Ambrose or a statue (that doesn't cost $1500!)or a children's book. My newest Godson is named Ambrose and I'd like something special for his patron, in addition to some honey and hopefully a candle or two!

How about a medal? realcatholic.com has one for sure. Leaflet missal will probably too, and probably also in sterling silver.

I wish I could recommend a story book, but I don't know of one. However, he is featured in Once Upon a Time Saints.

You might also be able to find a cd of Ambrosian chant. It is its own rite with its own music.

Blessings on you and this baby! I love that name.

I don't know of a book about St. Ambrose either, but there is a page about him in Brother Wolf, Sister Sparrow: Stories About Saints and Animals. The story is about when Ambrose was an infant and bees swarmed around him.

Aquinas and More has icons of St. Ambrose.
