Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've decided that we're going to take it easy for August. We're not going to do any formally planned stuff except for reading practice/literature and morning math drill, preferably outside. I've been feeling burned out for 2 years, but my dh prefers that we stick to a formal plan, which has been (and will continue to be) a classical program. So I've also been feeling behind for about 2 years (and according to the curriculum, we are). So I'm a little nervous.

i hope this will get us outside a lot more, as that is one of my many weaknesses. I'm trying to take us deeper into the liturgical year and get more creative too. We'll keep reading together, either from well-chosen literature, or as our interests lead us. Our year officially starts Sept 1, and my plan is to contact Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy now and arrange for plans starting mid- to late-September.

I'm posting this as much to keep me from chickening out and pushing us into formal lessons again sometime around Aug 6 as for words of wisdom! Wish me luck!
