Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi all,

I've been humming this song since I heard it last week at my mom's house and I thought I'd post it here. Many surely already know this song or even own it, but with all the garden talk on the board and blogs lately, I thought it would compliment the garden studies nicely.

You can listen to Peter, Paul and Mary's version here or Arlo Guthrie's version here.
(Just scroll down and click on the headphones - hope that works anyway!)

Inch by inch, row by row, goanna make my garden grow
Gonna mulch it deep and low, gonna make it fertile ground
Inch by inch, row by row, please bless these seeds I sow
Please keep them safe below, 'til the rain comes tumbling down

I love that song. We have a local Irish folk band here(the Dady Brothers), and they did that song at our anniversary party for our priest a few weeks ago. It has been an "ear worm" for me since lol(I would exclaim, but the key seems to be missing from my keyboard). We used to go see Arlo every time he was in town...I miss seeing him.

I did not know the name of that song! Thanks. Now I want to find the version that The Garden Hotline with Ralph Snodsmith uses. I listen to that occasionally when I visit my m-i-l. It's a man singing. The version has a deeper male voice...and it doesn't seem to be here on the Yahoo Music list.
