Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We've had 3 cherry tomatoes ripen over the last week. 2 of them had a bite taken out of them. I snatched the 3rd before it was totally ripe.

What kind of suburban critters nibble on tomatoes?

Jenn, has it rained? Many critters will look to tomatoes as a source of water if there has not been much rain...everything from pill bugs to opossums. Maybe you could check with Dawn and find her nocturnal photographing techniques helpful .

Only got a few thunderhowers last night. It's dry, dry, dry here. 3rd driest year on record. That helps me narrow it, it could be anything!

Alot of times for us it has been birds. But MacBeth is right, it could be anything. You may want to consider some netting over the plants as the fruit matures.

Well, in my ongoing research on box turtles, I see that they eat tomatoes.

Jenn,
Whenever it's dry, I've had trouble with squirrels biting the tomatoes, just for a drink of water. It *might* help to put out some water sources for them (birdbaths, etc.) AND put netting over your tomatoes.
We're in such a drought here in Ga this year I didn't even bother with a garden for the first time in 10 yrs.
Next year!

Dogs?
My obedience trainer electric fenced his vegie garden because his labs would go in and munch his tomatoes. My little lab pup eats the strawberries out of our strawberry patch green or red.
