Homeschool Science has a nice printable science calendar available for August.

It includes links for all kind of science information and activities. But it would also be great just to print out and add a little science to every day in an easy way

ETA: Aug 30 is Slinky Day!

I am thinking this would be a short, fun addition to morning basket time... a quick shot of science.   
Shoot- you could even use this as a a whole science program, one that covers a vast array of topics.
