Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

There is a "Nature Study Bag" on ebay that has a bunch of pockets on the outside for sketch books, pencils, magnifying glass etc. It's painted with dragonflies, butterflies, flowers and things.

This is so timely and funny. Just a month ago, my dh made each of my children a hip pack for nature study. We had never seen or heard of anything already put together. The hip pack is a good size and holds two water bottles. He bought them each a compass, small sketch pad with pencil, specimen holders of different sizes, a little pocket knife, a flashlight, a whistle, binoculars, magnifying glass, tweezers, bulb syringe for drawing up pond water, small container of bug repellant, hand cleanser, disposable gloves, bandaids, and test tubes.

We saw something similar but not even so well equipped at Home Science Tools for twice as much money as he spent making them. Most of his supplies came from a teacher store and Walgreens.

These packs have come in very handy. He should have started a business making them.

Maybe this will inspire others!

Ana,
Those packs sound awesome! And here we are with some old burlap rice bags! Fantastic of your dh to put them together!
