Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My children saw a bumble bee fall to the ground. A bumble bee. They remembered reading that bumble bees can run out of energy to fly and can be revived with sugar water from an eye dropper.

So half of them are scurrying around trying to find the book and the rest are looking for an eye dropper.

They worked on that thing for half an hour. I'm sure they drowned it.

The 4 year old cried. She was still upset at bedtime.

I blame you because years ago, you taught me how to 'do' nature study and be interested in every little thing with them. Now we have bedtime crying over a bumble bee. A bumble bee. Thanks a lot.

The next time you need to nurse a bumble bee back to health, your children should band together as MacBeth's children once did. Please go to the fifth post in this thread.

How funny! I didn't even see that thread. Bug nursing must be a sign of spring!

Everytime we have a goofy, messy nature experience i find myself laughing and saying 'this wouldn't have happened if it weren't for MacBeth'. Of course I mean it with only the greatest joy and affection.

Oh, my! I opened this thread very slowly, hoping your kids had not run away to live in a hollow tree somewhere. I'm so sorry your little one was so sad...

But, as CM would say, it's not how much they know, but how much they care!
