Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am working on my longest labor and it is wearing me out. I started daily contractions at 36 weeks and I am now 39 weeks. Everything is fine, I'm just contracting once or twice an hour for about 5 hours a day. They are more than mild cramps and not so painful that I have to stop activities, but they are strong and non-progressive.

Please pray for me as I await our fourth child.

update 9/27 - now almost 41 weeks and still having daily contractions. Today I had them 15 minutes apart most of the day with periods of inactivity. Plus, a huge old anxiety attack. I am so tired and so ready to be done, and doubting my ability to keep this up. The anxiety is driving me insane (constant floor pacing, feelings of needing to escape, crying, crying, can't be alone).

Please keep those prayers coming! I'm trying to offer up for everybody else as well.

Update below - he's here!

Oh Lara, I will be offering my days and nights for you until you are holding your precious newborn in your arms!

I am praying for you. With my second child, I had contractions (strong enough to stop me in my tracks) from week 19-40, every 5 minutes.

The good news is - you can get used to them.
The great news - when transition hit, it was only 59 mins to delivery.

Good luck

Just seeing this, Lara--hope you're holding your little one by now! I went through this with my last two babies and it was so very tiring. Praying here.

Thank you for the prayers. I'm still pregnant, although yesterday saw some changes to baby's position, but today no new activity. I'm really hoping that I don't go past this week, but I know the Lord will give me the strength to carry on as needed (even though I might have a few tantrums along the way).

Thanks again for lifting me up!

Oh goodness Lara! I'm right there with you although I'm about a week behind you. Will pray for you.

Yes, I know what those pre-birth tantrems are like, especially for those who consistently go over! Praying for a peace-filled and blessed birth for you and baby!

Praying for courage as you face bits of labor every day. One of these times it has to keep going, and you'll get to hold that little one in your arms.

Peace,
Nancy
