Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was not going to ask for prayers for this but I did a search to see if I could find some advice on stomach flu. I came across a post from Matilda that asked for prayers for this and then noticed a little further down that her family was feeling much better thanks to the power of prayer.

No request is too small to ask sisters in Christ to pray...right? This has been a terrible week with memorial and funeral services for a friend who lost her baby. Our entire family getting this would just send me over the edge.

My poor ds (10) got the stomach flu today...poor guy was throwing up on Christmas Eve, too! This has been going through our co-op and Homeschooling Group. I have five other children including a baby who is 3 months old.

Please pray for a quick recovery and the rest of us to be spared...especially the little ones!!

Thank you ladies.

DeAnn

I'm so glad you shared this with us, DeAnn. You are right! No request is too small! I'm so glad you would entrust us with your prayer requests, and I am praying for your family to be spared this flu, for recovery to be speedy, and for the Blessed Mother to strengthen you with maternal fortitude to care for your family!

Praying DeAnn.

The last few times we started getting stomach symptoms we took some Grapefruit seed extract and very diluted Apple Cider Vinegar. If you can get it down, it helps.

Thanks ladies,

My son feels much better today. So far no one else is down, but this virus likes to wait a few days and then hit. Some of my friends have been dealing with the for weeks. I feel very encouraged, though and beating down my pride and asking for prayers and help always ends well!

I'll try the ACV and if I can get out today, I'll look for grapefruit seed extract. Thanks for the prayers and advice.

Peace,
DeAnn

Oh how I despise stomach flu. We usually go a round in February. Last year, we were spared for the first time.

Ginger tea is great, even by the spoonful. Lemons also are helpful to quell the queasies. You can suck on a wedge.

You are in my prayers for sure. I hate dealing with it - all that laundry, all those poor kids. And when it goes in both directions, it's the worst. I dread it - we have one bathroom for 8 people. It can be disastrous. But it sure does create an interesting brand of togetherness.

Bless your heart. I hope it's all over very quickly.

Blessings,

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to thank all of those who prayed and offered such helpful suggestions. My oldest son was the only one to get the stomach flu. The rest of us stayed clear. I've been afraid to post a, "thank you," because I just knew as soon as I did, the rest of us would get sick. So silly. I now know to just ask for prayers when I need them...so look out!

Thanks be to God for answering prayers, large and small.

Thank you all, too. Your prayers and wisdom are such an incredible blessing to me and my family.

Peace of Christ,
DeAnn

I missed your first request DeAnn... but I'm glad it stayed small! How amazing that only your oldest got it.

DeAnn - Stomach flu is certainly something to ask us all to pray about!!! I asked MANY times last year when our family was hit twice within two months - 10 out of the 11 of us on Christmas Eve .

I am SO glad only one of your got it and that you are on the mend.

I do this, too.

I'm so happy all are doing well now, DeAnn!
