Please remember in your prayers this week my son, Billy, who reports to the Naval Academy early Wed. morning for his Plebe Summer. He is our first to leave home and this is tough on all of us. Today everyone is edgy and I suspect it is about the events ahead of us in the next few days. Your prayers for everyone are appreciated.

Praying, Maria. Remember that the Academy wants the plebes to succeed, not fail...the whole tough summer is geared toward bringing them together as a unit.

I'll add my prayers to everyone's and add another, somewhat selfish prayer for a cooler-than-usual summer!

Thank you for encouraging Billy in this endeavor, and please thank him for serving our wonderful country, from me.

I want to thank you all for your prayers for my son who reported to the Naval Academy on June 27th. From what we can tell in his letters and short phone calls, he is managing and doing well. Of course we all miss him so very much here at home and the adjustment has been very tough for each of us. Often times, I break out in tears just thinking about him. So much to write about, but will need to save that for another time. We are counting the days until we can see him on Plebe Parent Weekend in August. I am told that seeing your son for the first time in their Summer Whites uniform will rival the day they were born in your memory. I can't wait!

Your prayers mean a lot.
