Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I didn't want my MIL to know about our newest blessing. Not yet. They live in a different state so we don't see them too often. She won't be thrilled and I didn't want to deal with it until I had to. Wimpy, yes. My teens know and I told them not to put it on their facebooks because my DHs relatives often read them. Well, I didn't think about other people "posting on their wall" - or whatever it is you do there. So, as usual, things spread fast in cyperspace and now I have to tell them before they read it there. If they haven't already. Ughhh. It is DH's birthday, so MIL will be calling tonight anyway. Well, I guess we will have a little present for her.

UPDATE: DH told his mom and dad and he reports to me that they sounded pleased. I am so thankful, I don't care what strangers think - but I want Grandma and Grandpa to have a minimal level of happiness with the birth of grandchild.

Congrats, and that's a nice update to read! I know how you feel wanting the family at least to be happy about the news. Happy and healthy pregnancy to you!

Congratulations, and I'm glad the news was better accepted than you expected! It's so hard when you think they won't undertand/be happy, isn't it.

Congratulations! I can relate to feeling worry about telling the grandparents. Mine always have mixed feelings...and that's putting it mildly. ;) I'm so glad things went well for you!
