Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Pop Bottle Science looks like a lot of fun and is something I'm thinking of doing with my 1st grader. It says it's for ages 8 and up but I'm thinking it could be something fun we do together. My question is, what should my expectations be for a first grader? Should I just have fun or try to get her to understand the "why?" Should this be something I hold off on until she understands the "why" behind the concept? I thought about just asking her what she thinks will happen, do the experiment and then see if her prediction happens. Do I leave it at that or can I go a little deeper in my questioning?
