Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Announcement & Invitation:

The International Science & Engineering Fair will be held at the Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana next week. There are at least 4 homeschoolers participating that I know of: three from New Mexico and one from Georgia. The three from New Mexico swept the physical sciences Grand Awards at the State Science Fair! (And one of them is my son.)

If you're anywhere close to Indianapolis (or feel like a road trip ) this is an awesome science fair. Public Visitation Days are Thursday, May 11, 9 - 9 and Friday, May 12, 9 - noon. I don't know if any of that time is set aside for school groups or if you can show up whenever. If anyone's interested, I'll find out and post.

There are over a thousand high school kids from all over the world displaying their projects and competing for prize money. It looks more like a professional trade show or something - big booths, fancy curtains around the sides and back of each booth. It's amazing what these kids have done.

If you've got any kids who are interested in science, this is an awesome opportunity to motivate them! Some of the presenters will be at their booths (all the kids are required to be at their booths from 10-2 on Thursday).

Let me know if you'll be there! I'd love to see other homeschoolers.

If you can't make it to Indianapolis, start planning for next summer. ISEF 2007 will be held May 13th-19th, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico - my part of the world! (We're just east of Albuquerque.)
