Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It's Brain-Picking Time! I have a 13yo dd who is very much into poetry. Any suggestions on magazines for youths that publish poetry? Or competitions???

Also, ds recently wrote an article on a subject in medical history. After giving it to his uncle to read, his uncle (who is a specialist in infectious diseases, the subject of the paper) suggested ds submit paper to a magazine. I can't think of anything youth oriented that this would fit. Can you all? I know Cobblestone once did an issue on Science and History, but beyond that, I'm at a loss.

Thanks! Kelly in FL

Kelly, I don't know if this helps, but Cobblestone also publishes Odyssey which is a science magazine for ages 9-14.

For your daughter's poetry, you could try Stone Soup.

What wonderful interests and talents for your children to have!

Dawn, thanks! I'd forgotten about "Odyssey" and never heard of "Stone Soup". More research underway!
