Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My daughters, 13 and 11, will complete "Basic Language Principles with Latin Background" this semester. (I have to say I have loved, loved, loved this book.) They will be ready for Henle I next year. I'm having trouble figuring out how do-able it is for us at home or if I should enroll them somewhere online. I'd appreciate any advice from folks who have done either or both!

Martha

Martha,

I would say it depends how good you are in Latin. There is no DVD of this course like some programs. My dd did it through Seton and it was hard. (and she had had two years of LC I & II.) For my next dc, I am doing the Memoria press online course because I was not much help to my dd.

So it sounds like you think your daughter will get more guidance/instruction through Memoria than she did with Seton? I ask because I'm considering both.

My ds has been doing Henle 1 with Seton this year and has enjoyed it. The online lectures are helpful.

well, I have never used the Memoria press online class, but we didn't find the Seton class to have too many helps. The online stuff was ok, but didn't meet our needs.
