Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dd13 will be going to school in the fall. This isn't a bad thing, she is spreading her wings and facing some major fears. It is an art school, so she is following her passion. This is good.

I have been planning dd9 grade 5. I'm in a pickle with that. She is asking to go to jr high when the time comes. I'm not opposed to it, I will miss her terribly. It is a Catholic school, rates high academically within the province.

But now, I'm not sure about curricula! I was looking at what they are covering next year, and it isn't anywhere near what i chose would cover. I spent time on our school board website, and I do think dd9 would enjoy the science and it would allow for living books, social studies would allow living books and it's all about Canafa, but it wouldn't matter if we did that, every year is different here for those subjects. LA, we could do theirs over the summer almost, and do our own thing through the year, this is where i'm thinking, or use our own books to hit the targets. HOwever, Math is way different!! This scares me. It isn't what she's used to, the style is more about what do you think. I don't LIKE it at all, but I'm thinking we need to use it, or she would be lost when it came time to go to the school.

Math is the one subject I am really worried about. We have been using CLE Math, and she is retaining it well. But I printed a couple lessons and we both scratch our heads. She did complete it, but it was a little challenging to figrue out. I would hate to have her struggling in a class room.

What do I do?
