Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Chari,

I'm cheap so I went with blogger -- the new blogger allows me to tag things and I have very little prolbmes with them....I do two blogs, my family one and a knitting one (so folks wanting to hear my deathless prose and unique designs can do so ).

Anyway, hope that helps you a bit.....

I have Typepad, and it is very easy, but I've been looking at Blogger and Wordpress because they are free.

I have typepad and love it! I've been on the fence though about the cost... if I did ever switch it would be to Wordpress (I think).

Finally! I'm so glad, Chari.

I've used blogger in 2005 and Typepad in 2006 and now I'm slowly trying to switch over to Wordpress for 2007.      I really liked Blogger. I've enjoyed Typepad. The Wordpress seems to have the look of Typepad, "floating"set-up which I love, and it's FREE.

HTH!

I'm a new blogger too and picked Wordpress because it's 1) it's free and 2) it seemed to be the easiest.

Just a hint about WordPress: You have to pay money to "upgrade" if you fill up your "image quota," but you can write forever without cost. So you can get around filling up your image space if you post your pictures at flickr.com (which allows you to post the picture on your blog using their URL space -- I think that's the technical way to describe it) .

I use homeschooljournal. It is free and easy to use and I have been very satisfied with the support. I really like that it is ad-free. I think sign-ups are closed right now because they are getting ready to do a big upgrade to a new server. That should be soon. I also use flickr for photo hosting to save space on my blog-highly recommend that service.

I use blogger and homeschoolblogger.com.   They are both free. I liked to learn about HTML and how to change my template and blogger was very good for that. Homeschoolblogger has a great community. Really I enjoy them both!   I also use Flickr for photo hosting and photobucket and Librarything for books.

i second elena's suggestion for flickr.

another option:

you can have pics hosted at multiply, then link to them from your free blog, either at wordpress, or blogger.

and i love wordpress, for versatility and ease of use and the continuous updating of the software! i'm still looking at other hosts for pics though, we've had pbase for a few years; multiply is free but they do put a watermark on your pics. i guess you can't have it both ways, free and watermark-free.
