RSV-CE here too...,

But the big Catholic Bible with all the births and the pictures that the kids can look at during the rosary, etc. is the New American Bible (wedding present).

But the one I read is the small-sized RSV-CE.

Thank you! So, the word Vulgate simply refers to the Latin translation that St. Jerome did? Right? (I can be a very slow study .) And then this is the translation from which the Douay Reims was written. I think I've got it.

You got it! "Versio vulgata" simply means "the translation made public." And for the ancient Christians in the west, that public language was Latin.
