Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For those who have miscarried in the first trimester, how long does it normally take you to miscarry from the time you begin to bleed until you pass the baby and tissue? I have had 4 miscarriages and you would think I would know all about them but I think I am miscarrying and it is different from the others. I started spotting lightly on Saturday night along with cramping. IT was red. Sunday, is slowed down and was pink and no cramping. Today it is heavier and red and cramping again. But no tissue or baby yet. I called my midwife and she said it can take up to 5 days. Anyone take that long? I hope it doesn't drag out that long. I have 7 children who need caring for. Dh stayed home today but has to go back tomorrow. I am almost 11 weeks, which is when I usually lose them. I need prayers. I am terrified of having to go to the hospital. I have had one d & c before and want to avoid it. It was a terrible experience. Also, my midwife suggested oregano tea after I knew the baby had passed to help with cramping. If you have any other ideas for that, let me know.

Oh Lisa, I am so sorry. How I will be praying for you.

I have lossed 5 little ones too, all 8 weeks or earlier though. I've never needed any medical intervention Praise God. The quickest took 48 hours, start to finish, the longest took 9 full agonizing days.

Get plenty of rest, and plenty of fluids. It is hard to cope with on top of taking care of other children. I will be praying for you.

Lisa,

I don't have much advice but hugs and prayers for you. This is one of crosses, the waiting part. Momwise seemed to have taken longer and much heavier bleeding, so maybe she can help with advice. this thread talks about healing after a miscarriage.

Lisa - I am soo sorry. I will pray for you. The longest I think it took for me was about 5 days. I have heard though that when you are further along, as you are, it can take a little longer.   i have had 4 losses and I wll pray that you do not need a D&C - mine was not a pleasant experience either.

Oh dear Lisa,
Like Jenn said, my miscarriage at Thanksgiving took a while.

I spotted on Thanksgiving then it stopped. I spotted on Fri. then it stopped. I had a light flow on Sat. I had a light flow on Sun. and went to Mass at 11a.m., then after Mass I had to stock up on a few things knowing what was coming and in the store it got heavier. I went home and it picked up; I had to get into bed because I was using 2-3 pads every 20-30 min.

I asked MaryM to post here for more prayers in the evening because I was really afraid I'd have to call 911. I started passing clots but couldn't even find them (I couldn't even stay on my feet to try) and my dh was out of town. Monday and Tue. were heavy then light flow after that for another 2 days, then spotting. So if the miscarriage finally ended on Sun. or Mon. it was 4-5 days.

The thing that helped the most was the constant prayers of the mothers here and my friends at home. I also became really worried because the miscarriage itself was just hour after hour and on and on. I thought it would subside after 3-4 hrs. After the praying started I had a lot less fear and the flow was ever so slightly less; just enough that I didn't to the ER.

If you have a friend or relative that can make you some chicken soup for tomorrow, call them now. I will start praying the 9 hr. Novena and I'll post in the prayer section if you haven't already.

I sure hope this helps. PM me if you need anything at all.

Oh Lisa, I will be praying for you. I am so sorry to hear your news. With my last miscarriage, I did not go to the hospital though I did have a hormone test twice within three days to verify that the pregnancy was indeed, lost. I also had an outpatient ultrasound to be certain. Once the bleeding began, I took two herbal tinctures interchangeably that helped the uterus to contract and finalize the miscarriage. If you are needing that information, please feel free to pm me.

Lisa, I am so sorry and will be praying for you. Both of my miscarriages were early losses, so they were more like having a period. Sorry I can't provide more help.

Lisa,

I'm so sorry... When I lost my second time, it took just about 5 days. I started spotting at suppertime and knew right away what was happening. I cramped a lot and bled a lot - was in the ER twice for checks. My best advice is to sit and rest, pray for peace while you're waiting and to take Floradix with some OJ to keep your iron up.

If you think there is a chance you may not miscarry, see if you can get some progesterone suppositories to help support the baby.

Praying for you, dear

I'm so sorry you're going through this ... I'm praying for you. No good advice, I'm afraid, as all of my losses required d&c's ....

Prayers will continue for you ...

I don't have any advice, but I wanted to say I will be praying! I just had a miscarriage recently myself, so the pain is still pretty fresh, and I feel for you. May God's peace surround you.
