Does anyone know of a good living book on frogs?
One that has a little more meat/detail than a simple "life cycle" kind of book, but still for a 7 year old?

There is also an Eyewitness Junior series that is excellent and a bit simpler, depending on ds's level:
Amazing frogs and toads
We just love the Eyewitness books of all kinds.

Thank you I will look into it, the younger level one might be just right.
I was also wondering about something with a little more text than most eyewitness books.

There is a great living book we read last year when my 6 and 8 year olds were mad about frogs/toads called . Toad Overload: A True Tale of Nature Knocked Off Balance in Australia by Patricia Seibert. It has less of the life cycle information then a strictly information book, but it was a darned good read and my son's favorite from our frog/toad unit.

A little late here (better late than never??)- checked out some books before we left to compare them but didn't have a chance to post.

It's a Frog's Life - fun book written like a frog's journal. Very nature study/CMish.

Why Frogs are Wet - vibrant pictures, some evolutionary text at beginning (frog forefathers), great experiment at end using tapioca and hard boiled egg to talk about similarities to frog eggs.

Animal Lives - Frog -this is a nice series. They have them for many different animals. The last pages have scientific info, vocabulary, links.

A New Frog - simple text but informative in the wording style of "This is the House that Jack Built." Nice pictures with lifting side flaps.

(FYI, both of the last two have more specific info about mating behavior.)
