Today is my Anna's nameday! I found this great link to something I have never heard of:
The Rosary of St. Anne.
We are going to pray this today in honor our Blessed Mother's mother!
Just thought I'd share.

Thank you Jennifer, for sharing that!
For me, St Anne's feast was yesterday (we are 3/4's of a day ahead of the US) and I have entrusted my health to St Anne - I was led to a doctor who is making a wonderful difference in my life (after 12 years with a thyroid disorder that has not been manager efficiently) and I noticed in time, that my regular appointments were always on Tuesdays, St Anne's day and last year her feast fell on the Tuesday and I was at the doctor's that day.
Yesterday I had a scheduled phone appointment with Mary Shomon, who runs the biggest thyroid website in the world and has written many good books on the subject, and it wasn't until the phone conversation was about to begin (7am my time) that I realised it had been sheduled on her day! It is a great comfort to me that I see her hand in these little things.
Happy feast day!!

I'm familiar with Mary Shomon! That's neat that it was your nameday. I hope the call went well.

Yes, she has given me some 'good leads' to follow with some of the complicated areas of my disorder and she was very supportive and impressed with my doctor's handling of things, so that was good for me to hear.

Anne,
How wonderful that you have a good doctor and were able to speak with this expert on the phone...and on your patron's feast day! God works it all out, doesn't he? Prayers for your health coming from Texas...

I know it was yesterday, but I did have a few thoughts on St. Anne that I posted, also some great artwork links. I just can't get over how many great paintings there are that include Ann and Joachim. Anything we know about them is from oral tradition, not scripture. But their role in our faith runs deep.

We decided to use yesterday to celebrate grandparents day. So the kids drew pictures, we made a cake and then we visited my parents. My parents were very surprised when the kids greeted them with "Happy Grandparents day" and then told them why we chose to do this.

Thank you Jennifer!
Jenn I NEVER get sick of seeing new and more varied artwork of St Anne, the MASACCIO's Madonna and Child with St Anne which was on the blog was one I was tossing over for my new avartar, but I ended up deciding on the new one I nave now - only because it had a little more colour, but they were both lovely.

What a great idea! Many saints were grandparents but only Anne and Joachim were grandparents to the Divine Child.
