Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just had to share! We have been following a mini Middle Ages
rabbit trail.

I have an update on our blog.

And Thomas and Anthony finally finished their castle - so I'd like to share it with you.

They had a lot of fun and their reading has been helping them learn more about castles in medieval times.

Leonie, thank you so much for sharing! We're starting Middle Ages next month with our boys and I know they would love to build a castle like that! What an awesome job your boys did! Do you have the books you are reading listed at your blog? I'm compiling resources.

Oh thank you, Leonie! I hope it's not too much trouble, but I would love to know what books your family enjoyed.

Leonie,

Fabulous castle! How long did it take?

Marianna loves her Castle Cards to build with. We first got them for her to replace legos on the boat - they take up much less storage room. She's bought several additional castle card sets on her own, she enjoys them so.

Jennifer, those are cool! Thanks for pointing them out as I have never seen them before. Do they hold up well? Ds has a birthday coming up soon and he would love these!

They are pretty sturdy, rather like slightly thicker playing cards with a similar coating. Marianna hasn't had one bend or fray yet, in half a year of use. She even Pledge Wiped them clean once, when she left a castle up waay too long and it got dusty.

They also have brand new Pirate Ship Cards if someone is trailing after Pirates this summer!

Hey, Jennifer, the castle cards look pretty cool.

Our castle took about two weeks to make - but working on and offf, here and there. Probably could be made in a day or two, with a more concentrated effort. I think it will be played with today - they have also been making model soldiers from plastic kits - kinghts and mongols.
