Old thread which I can't believe I didn't participate in the first time. Must have been on vacation. 
I have a new one we just read with our Aesop's fable marathon. It expands on the Aesop's fable "The Mice and the Cat." Cute story of how a mouse figured out a way to bell the palace cats. The fable is included before the story starts so you can see the dilemna they are trying to solve.

Since this is asking for cute books
Santa Mouse OOP it looks like but.. I love the story.. it's probably not great literature but I memorized it when I was 2.. had my aunt convinced I could read.. until I was reading it with the book upside down  I remember loving that book.. and my mom found me a little board book slightly edited when I was oh probably 19 or so. And then I picked up somewhere a book that has 3 stories. It's done in rhyme and is just sweet.
And there's Ben and Me: An Astonishing Life of Benjamin Franklin by His Good Mouse Amos I don't recall reading it.. but the title was popped into my head when thinking of mice books.

This was my favorite book as a little girl. My parents gave it to my when I was eight years old. I wrote my name on the inside cover, and my age, and read it nearly everyday.
I saved this book, and many others, for my own children, and they truly enjoy Frederick.
It's interesting, I stumbled upon this thread which talks a bit about the dull, drab, and depressing nature of Leonni books ... I never thought of Frederick being depressing! until now, that is. But, now simply looking at the book, I can "see" it...the pictures don't exactly "pop" out of the pages, the setting in wintery-cold ...
This is the only Leonni book I have, and the only one I've read from this author, so maybe I'm not really missing out by skipping the other books ~ but...
I still love this book, and don't really mind it being called dull, or perhaps depressing. Rather, I always think of this book being a simple, yet elegently written poetic story of a mouse who stood out from the crowd, and followed his own desire and artistic nature. And in the end, was appreciated by his peers (or, if you will, "the crowd").
Maybe as a kid I connected with little Frederick  .
