Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Last year we had this thread. I love cloverleaf rolls as a symbol, but that's not possible in the wheat, egg and dairy free house. Didn't you make those last year?

I don't have age specific ideas...just throwing out some from different sources.

There are so many symbols for the Trinity, most you are aware of, but I'll just list some of them:
Equilateral triangle
Circle of eternity
Interwoven Circles
Triangle in Circle
Circle within a Triangle
Interwoven Circle and Triangle
Two Triangles (like star of David, interwoven)
Two Triangles and Circle (star and cicle all intertwined)
Trefoil
Trefoil and Triangle
Trefoil with points
Triquetra
Triquetra and Circle
Shield of the Holy Trinity
Three Fishes overlapping in a triangle
Cross and Triangle
Fleur de Lys
St. Patrick's Shamrock
Pansy (sometimes called "Trinity Flower" in Europe)
Trinitaria is a Puerto Rican flower

I have b/w images of many of these that I could scan. Seems some puzzle or art project could be made from some of these symbols. One book suggests cutting out three circles and a symbol for inside of each circle: descending hand for God the Father, Cross or lamb for Jesus, Descending Dove for Holy Spirit.

The family in itself is a symbol of the Trinity. From CCC 2205: "The Christian family is a communion of persons, a sign and image of the communion of the Father and the Son in the Holy Spirit."

Pope John XXIII is the pope who made this a universal feast, so Catholic Book of Feasts and Seasons suggests serving his favorite, Polenta, as part of the meal. The recipe they suggest is from The Cook's Blessing but it has cheese. Interesting to me, two cookbooks both mention this as John XXIII's favorite food, the other book being Buon Appetito, Your Holiness.

A Treasure Chest of Traditions suggests Trinity braid pins or bracelets...tri-color threads braided to remind of the Trinity.

Finally, what I'm doing for the feast...since my son is young, is dessert. We have a birthday pool party with all the extended family on Sunday and I was going to make a "safe" cake with frosting and such for ds. But in Book of Feasts and Seasons she has a recipe for Pineapple Cake. I'm not using the recipe, but the idea of using three pineapple rings as the decoration on the cake for the Trinity is JUST BRILLIANT to me. So that is what I'll be doing!
