Asking for prayers for all those in Ecuador, two days ago Ecuador was hit by an earthquake of a magnitude of 7.8. Many are dead, injured and homeless.

Also asking for prayers that Our Lord continues to watch over my baby sister (24) who was in the epicenter of it all. Praise be to God she is currently okay. She was in a coastal village, after the earthquake passed they had to flee up the mountains as they were terrified a tsunami was on it's way. She was able to grab a couple of children and flee with them.

The following morning they made their way to a Church for shelter, there were dying people around them. Another earthquake however made that shelter unsafe. The whole village was destroyed. Organisations couldn't get in until the landslides had settled.

Fortunately my sister has made it out of the village and is now in the city of Quito, still in Ecuador though.

Praying for Ecuador and praying for the continued safety of my baby sister.

Thank you for your prayers. My sister made the decision to stay in Ecuador and go back in and volunteer. Today she finishes up and begins to make her way home.

Here in Australia our Catholic Leader picked up her experience and shared in today's edition her words are so moving, I cry everytime I read.
Praise God she is safe, but so many are not

“A screaming mother and father brought their dead little boy to place on the ground a few metres from me. The woman wailed over his tiny body. The screams will haunt my dreams forever ... Everyone was crying silently with them. Other mothers and fathers clung to their children, covering them in blessings and kisses. I was sitting in the dirt and rain being eaten by insects. But I was alive …”
