Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are enrolled with MODG but I am thinking about switching to Kolbe for HS. I would like to talk to somebody who has actually used Kolbe, especially their online classes.

Thanks,

Natalia

Late response, as I haven't been on in a while, but I have been using Kolbe for 8 years, and it has been an excellent fit for us. The curriculum has prepared my daughter (who has graduated) for college ("college is easy, Mom") and has helped me tremendously with the lesson plans and support. The plan has made my girls independent and lovers of learning.

Thanks Bridget!
We decided to take the plunge and make the change. We enrolled our son with Kolbe for his freshman year. Hopefully, I won't regret the decision!
I am a little nervous since Kolbe seems more rigorous than MODG. We signed up for two online classes and are going to do the rest as Homeschool courses. Have you done any online classes? are they as tough as people say they are? My son is a good student but not a fast reader or writer, so we will see how it goes. :-)

My daughter did Kolbe online for Literature and History her sophomore and junior years. Yes, its rigorous... but she learned lot, in an interesting way, with a great teacher. Wish I could keep her there for senior year, but she needs to take some community college classes where I am SURE the courses won't be as interesting OR as Catholic!

Sorry for the late response. My daughter in college was WELL prepared using Kolbe, and she was an "average" student. She is well organized and has a great thinking-type of brain, which I attribute to Kolbe, because it is a little rigorous, but not too much, as one can change the lessons to reflect your style. The flexibility is wonderful, and the help is amazing. It worked well for that daughter, and is working out great for my other two. My son was public school educated (California), and the difference in intelligence is quite apparent between the children, even though my son is very smart, the thinking is not quite like the girls (I think due to the education).

Anyways, just mho. God bless you on your endeavor, and let me know how it works for you. Bridget
