Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hairbrushes are going in stockings this year at my house.
I found this Spornette recommended in an old thread
Any other suggestions?

I have a few Ambassador hairbrushes that I like. Their baby brush is very soft!

We stick mainly with combs. The nice heavy smooth wide tooth combs on a handle. Brushes won't go through the thick hair around here.

We were OK with normal brushes and ordinary combs around here until my youngest. (6th child, 5th dd)

At age three it looks as if her ringlets are here to stay and while I've found that a long toothed hair pick works the best at not turning her hair into a frizzy mess, I'm still not quite comfortable with my ability to deal with with fine, curly hair, sometimes it looks excessively cute, sometimes straggely, sometimes total frizz. When shorter her hair just went every which way so just keeping it short isn't the answer.

My almost-21-year-old has ringlet hair -- super super curly. There are old "Curly Girl" threads here, I know, that might be helpful, but re combs, brushes, curly hair: she combs her hair only when it's wet, after washing, and then doesn't touch it again -- she's gotten good at braiding & doing updos without having to comb.

When she was younger, we did a lot of braids, but overall the key to having curls look nice is to leave them alone as much as possible. Easier when you're 21 than when you're 3, obviously!

:)
