Hi Friends,
Miss Lily is pretty sick...and it is her big girl five year old birthday tomorrow. She has had a nasty GI virus since last week....is increasingly weak, I’ll spare you the GI symptoms...not pretty. Saw the doc today who put her on zofran, and said if she doesn’t perk up quite a bit by tomorrow, she’ll need a visit to the ER for an IV bolus.
Can you pray she’ll feel better for her birthday? She didn’t even fuss when I told her we would have to put her little birthday party off for a few days.....”Oh, dats’s ok Mommy, we can do it next year,” poor thing. She has been sleeping 3-5 hrs a day, and sleeping 10-12 hours at night!!! When she is awake, I think, “Oh, she’s turning the tide, perking up and looking better,” and then she crashes again.
To think where we were five years ago, every birthday is a victory dance for this little one, but I just wish she was up for a crazy banana dance for tomorrow.

UDPATE: Lily was worse this morning...she had been tired, but still her sweet self, today, she woke up and was agitated, crying....more lethargic....color very pale.....time for the ER. They gave her two fluid boluses and some meds....and she perked up and ate a few mild things like applesauce without horrible stomach cramps like earlier. So....after spending nearly all day there...we are home. Poor girl is sleeping on the sofa, too tired to open presents. We are just going to extend her birthday through tomorrow....sort of like important feast days, right??

So sorry, dear Lily's Mom!
Praying she will perk up enough to enjoy her birthday a bit, and stay out of that ER.
I know it's hard to have to revisit the past that way!

My kids LOVE to remind me that special feast days get an Octave...so they just LOVE to insist on an Octave for their birthday!  I sure hope Miss Lily gets to enjoy the rest of her Octave-of-Birthday-Happiness without any further yuck from this virus!!!

Lots of prayers for your sweet girl. I was just in the ER with my little guy for a nasty GI virus that lead to dehydration. I hope she is all better soon! And my prayers are with you as well - it is so hard when they are so sick.
